21st Century skills include communication, collaboration, teamwork, integrity, critical and creative thinking and finding and solving problems, which help to achieve common goals and address local and global issues.
Collaboration

This school has a long and proud tradition of working collaboratively, both within the school and across the local community. Collaboration allows students and staff to experience working together as a team, to build positive relationships, to cooperate on projects and to establish positive partnerships in the community.
Engagement

When students find learning fun, they are engaged, challenged and rewarded with a sense of achievement. We want our students to enjoy their learning experiences while at our school, contribute positively to the school and society, and act as responsible, local and global citizens
Integrity

At Esperance SHS, we strongly endorse integrity as a very worthy value to live by and guide us through life. We encourage our students to be worthy citizens in a modern, global world, to e outstanding young adults and act as positive role models and active citizens in their school and wider community.
Respect

We value respect highly and encourage students to respect self, others and the environment. We show respect by speaking and acting courteously,by treating others with dignity, by honouring the rules of the nation, our community and the school and by caring for the local and global environment in a sustainable manner.
Responsibility

In order for students to become outstanding young adults, they need to practise taking responsibility for their own learning, behaviour and actions.

Our school has a long and outstanding tradition of exemplary and diverse student achievement. Students benefit from this culture of high standards across the school, which encourages students to strive for excellence and achieve their personal best.

Vision and Values

Situated within the rural town of Esperance some 730kms south east of Perth, Esperance Senior High School forms a strong link with its community. This is reflected in the school’s vision: A strong community, creating opportunities for personal excellence.

The strong foundation of the school’s vision lies in its seven values of: Achievement, Collaboration, Engagement, 21st Century Learning, Integrity, Respect and Responsibility. Whether out and about in the community on work placement, as ambassadors for their school and town on state, national or international occasions, or as members of the school community, the students consistently represent the school values to a very high standard. They are a credit to themselves, their family and the school.

Through our vision, values and pedagogical pillars, we aim for Esperance Senior High School students to develop into knowledgeable, confident, caring, optimistic and resilient young people who will lead fulfilling lives, set and achieve realistic goals, and contribute productively to their community and the broader, global community, in order to work towards a sustainable and preferred future.
