Where will Certificate II in Furniture Pathways lead you?

Certificate II in Furniture Pathways is intended for students interested in exposure to a furniture-making or carpenter-making working environment with a view to entering employment in that area. This qualification delivers broad-based underpinning skills and knowledge in a range of tasks that will enhance the graduates' entry-level employment prospects for apprenticeships, traineeships or general employment in a manufacturing environment or related workplace.

MSF20516 Certificate II in Furniture Pathways is delivered via an auspiced program though the Australian Institute of Education and Training Pty Ltd (RTO Code 121314), as a two-year program.

  • Apply finishing material

  • Work effectively and sustainably in the workshop environment.
  • Handling and using furniture-making tools and materials
  • Measurements and calculations
  • Demonstrate correct workplace health and safety practices
  • Planning and organising your work
  • Undertake a basic furniture-making project
  • Making simple timber joints
  • Install door handles, locks, hardware, flooring underlay, insulating material and other fixtures
  • Maintain and sharpen tools
