
Where will Certificate II in Agriculture lead you?
Certificate II in Agriculture provides students with the skills and knowledge to work in the Agricultural and Primary Industries. Students will study cropping and/or livestock, as well as other general agriculture areas. Certificate II in Agriculture is delivered via a VETiS profile program through South Regional TAFE, as a two-year program.
Common work tasks
- Cultivate soil, sow crops and control weeds by slashing, rotary hoeing or chemical spraying
- Participate in environmental controls and management
- Take part in harvesting operations using harvesting machinery.
- Move, muster and handle livestock.
- Clean and sterilise farm equipment
- Perform other tasks involved with the breeding and raising of livestock, such as dipping, branding, crutching, gelding, marking and assisting with artificial insemination
- Operate machinery including farm utilities, tele-handlers, tractors, seeders, chaser bins.
- Maintain and repair farm buildings, bores, fences, machinery, troughs, windmills and other equipment
