Rotary Exchange

The High School supports the Rotary Exchange program by liaising with the two Esperance Clubs in promoting the program to our students.

The program enables our students to spend up to one year living as a full-time student in one of approximately thirty foreign countries, immersing themselves in a new culture.

It is anticipated that during an exchange a student would grow considerably in self-confidence, tolerance and self-reliance. They will also learn to accept greater responsibility in your everyday life.

The exchange provides a unique opportunity to experience at first hand the many cultures of a different country, a new way of life and in some instances another language. Often, the friendships they make will be life long and important in achieving the aims of the exchange - the building of goodwill and understanding between countries.

The High School also hosts visiting international Rotary Exchange students.

Typically the timeline for a student wanting to go on exchange the year after they complete their secondary schooling starts in October of year 11.

For more information contact the school’s YEO.

"Rotary Youth Exchange is an amazing opportunity to travel parts of the world, learning a different culture and language, while meeting the greatest people and making the best of friends. It is an experience that books and other people cannot teach you about, learning so much about the world and yourself that you will never look back. If you ever want to travel, Rotary Exchange is really great as you have the support of your host families, plus you get to meet and travel around with lots of other exchange students. I will never forget my year away, all the friends I have made throughout the world, and the fantastic memories I will have forever.", Alicia Jackson, Rotary Exchange to Sweden 2015.
