The Principal - Ms Cathy Bamblett
Welcome to Esperance Senior High School. At this school we offer your child a first-class education in a rural community. Our students continually demonstrate their capacity to match or exceed the achievements of students in large, regional centres and the metropolitan area. Founded in 1966, the school has a strong and proud tradition of academic, vocational, cultural and sporting excellence and a breadth of programs to meet a variety of student interests and pathways.
In 2015, the school became an Independent Public School and in 2017 the school was one of four finalists in the Public Schools’ WA Education Awards for the Secondary School of the Year. This award recognised our consistently good achievements and the strength of our school community partnerships with parents and carers, students, staff and the very supportive local community.
From year 7 through to year 12, our students have access to a wide range of programs to meet their learning needs. We have a strong pastoral care student services support team; a variety of specialist teachers and support staff; many state-of-the-art facilities; and a choice for our upper school students of a university-bound pathway or a vocational education and training (VET) pathway. For the latter, our school is in partnership with both the on-campus South Regional TAFE training provider and Skills Strategy International.
We encourage our students to ‘seize the day’ and take advantage of the school’s emphasis on providing a holistic education. There are many opportunities for your child to experience a successful education here at Esperance Senior High School and to take advantage of a variety of extra-curricular activities on offer at the state, national and even international level.
