The Premiers ANZAC Tour Competition.
Entries for the 2022 ANZAC Tour competition have opened. See the Department's website.
This competition is run every year. Students from years 8 -11 in West Australia may enter. This is an written competition and is in the context of the ANZAC spirit and traditions and/or Western Australian involvement in various conflicts, (usually one of the two World Wars)
Winners of this competition, (ten students state-wide), win a place on an organised excursion of ten or so days to a commemorative location that features strongly in Australian military history. The trip is largely an educational, history study and cultural tour experience. Some destinations in the past have been; Gallipoli, The Western Front, Greece/Crete, Malaysia/Borneo. This competition is fully sponsored by the State Government through the Department of Education.
ESHS usually enters several students in this competition each year. We have a strong history with The Premiers ANZAC Tour Competition in that several students from this school have won places on the trip in the past. Some past winners/entrants from ESHS have been Krista Moir, Elliot Smith, Elisha Clifton, Courtney Spencer and Hannah Casteldine.
Entrants in the competition are invited to write a response in a chosen form addressing a topic to do with Australian military history/the ANZAC legend or possibly Western Australia and its experiences and or impacts of war.
