The George Alexander Foundation was established by Mr Alexander AM in 1972 to provide grants for public charitable purposes in Australia. The George Alexander Foundation has an emphasis on helping talented young people, especially those from rural and regional areas, to achieve their academic potential. The scholarship is awarded to students intending to study at Murdoch University. Ashlee clearing demonstrates the selection criteria that includes: "have a history of high academic achievement" and "Can demonstrate examples of personal leadership and/or contributions to the community". Congratulations Ashlee.
Sarah Callow won the UWA Diversity and Merit Award/Scholarship for the top ATAR Aboriginal student. The award is valued at $2000. Sarah ended up with an ATAR score of just over 94 after adjustments for being a rural/remote student.
Sarah also received her Rob Reilly Award for the Top Government School ATAR Aboriginal student on Friday at Parliament House.

The library has undergone a transformation! The highlight of the revamp is a new mural painted by Perth artist Esti Nagy.
New features also include:
- a new lab space for the 32 computers
- bright new chairs
- re-upholstered arm chairs
- new lounge furniture.
- some funky new curved shelving and seating
- lots of other features to brighten the space

Congratulations to Ashlee Clare, top ATAR student with a score of 98.65. Melissa Schutz and Connor Flanagan also achieved an ATAR greater than 98.
In total there were 12 students who achieved 90+ scores. Esperance SHS placed in the top 50 schools in the state for students with a score of 75 or above.
Connor Flanagan was awarded a Certificate of Commendation in the School Curriculum and Standards Authority Exhibition and Award Winners 2015.

Congratulations to Sarah Callow who has achieved the top score for government school Aboriginal students in ATAR. Sarah will be awarded the Rob Riley Memorial Prize at a ceremony in Perth. The Rob Riley Memorial Prize is awarded to the leading Aboriginal Year 12 WACE student and the leading Aboriginal VET student in public schools. The prize is valued at $5000. Sarah was supported by the Follow the Dream program at Esperance SHS.
