The Quiet Lion Tour journeys on the Thai Burma Railroad in the footsteps of the prisoners of war during World War Two. Many Australians, British, Dutch, and Thai prisoners faced horrendous conditions to build the Thai Burma Railway under Japanese control. The Quiet Lion Tour recognises these endeavours by attending many sites of POW camps and the ANZAC Day Ceremony at Hellfire Pass every year. Esperance Senior High School students take part in the wreath laying ceremony, visit the POW cemeteries and the war memorials along the route. An unforgettably experience.
