Canberra Tour

The Canberra trip is a biannual trip for Year 10 students organised by the Humanities and Social Sciences Department.

Students visit Sydney and Canberra. The next trip will take place in December 2016.

As for all trips there is an application process. A high standard of student behaviour is expected. Students would be ineligible for the trip if they have had a suspension in the 20 weeks prior to the trip.

The main focus of the trip is on Civics and Citizenship with visits to:

  • Canberra parliament
  • Old Parliament building
  • Electoral office
  • High Court
  • Australians of the year walk

  • National Archives Museum
  • Sydney Powerhouse museum
  • National Film and Sound Archive 


  • Royal Mint


  • Canberra Arboretum
  • National Capital Exhibition

  • Questacon
  • Taronga Zoo
  • CISRO Discovery Centre


  • Australian Institute of Sport
